Pastor Kevin Morris has served as Minister of Children and Youth at the White Memorial Church since 1992. In addition to leading out in the Youth Group, he oversees the Pathfinder Cub (where he teaches the Friend Class), the Adventurer Club (where he teaches the Helping Hand Class) the Teen Leadership Training Unit (TLT’s) and the Adventurer Leadership Team known as ALT’s. In addition each summer he works closely with Urban Embrace – The White Memorial Summer Day Camp which began in the summer of 1994. Pastor Kevin enjoys preparing young people for Baptism.
Pastor Kevin was born at the White Memorial Hospital in 1958 (the same year the Dodgers came to Los Angeles) when his father Clyde was a surgical resident. He is a graduate of Adventist Union School – Bellflower, Newbury Park Academy, Pacific Union College, and Andrews University. Prior to coming to the White, he pastored in Lynwood and Bellflower, and recently in Pasadena. He is married to the former Fely Sibayan, a physician, whom he met at a potluck in Lynwood. They have one son, Marcus who currently is studying at the New York Film Academy located at Universal Studios. His hobbies include professional and collegiate sports, music, RV-ing, and travel. He plays the guitar, banjo, and meddles with the electric bass, and the upright bass. Someday he would like to learn to play the accordion.
Pastor Kevin’s greatest joy in ministry is to see the young people he has worked with go on to be leaders in the church.
